On the menu for this one week Cooking Experience you will stay in the scenic Atlas Mountains and learn to cook a selection of traditional tasty Berber dishes. You will discover a wide variety of fresh produce in bustling local markets whilst soaking up the Berber culture. There is also plenty of time to walk through isolated Berber villages and soak up the mountain scenery.

Day 1 

Arrive Marrakech Menara Airport and you will be transferred to Kasbah Africa in the Atlas Mountains.

Relax, soak up the mountain views and settle in.

7 Nights Kasbah Africa  – bed and breakfast basis – plus 3 lunches and 3 dinners which you prepare yourself

Day 2

This morning you will visit a local market with your guide discovering fresh local produce of many kinds.

In the afternoon it’s into the kitchen to cook your first meal at Kasbah Africa – a delicious Moroccan dinner.

Relax on the terrace, enjoy the far reaching views and savour your first Moroccan cooking experience.

Day 3

This morning you will prepare a delicious lunch. After lunch the afternoon is free for you to do as you please, you may like to take a guided walk into the mountains and see how people live here. Local children will no doubt rush out to greet you as you pass by.

Day 4

This morning you will transfer to Marrakech and go shopping to buy fresh produce in the bustling Mellah market. Here you will see everything from fresh vegetables and spices to live animals of many kinds. Then in the kitchen at Riad Africa you will prepare your lunch including some traditional Fez specialities). Later you will visit the food stalls in Djemaa el Fna and soak up the sights, sounds and smells of this lively main square where you discover everything from snake charmers to some very unusual street sellers. Finally, after such an exciting day, you will transfer back to your mountain base.

Day 5

This morning is free to relax. Then return to the mountain kitchen and cook your dinner for this evening.

Day 6

This morning travel to the coastal town of Essaouira on the Atlantic coast.  With a thriving fishing port here this is a fantastic place to learn how to cook seafood Moroccan style. You will have time to explore the local markets and cook up a delicious seafood meal. Transfer back to your Atlas base.

 

Day 7

This morning is at leisure. Then its time to put all you have learned together as you cook your final sumptuous Moroccan dinner we hope it will be fit for a prince!

Day 8

Your Marrakech cooking holiday finishes today as you say farewell to your new friends. We are sure you and your stomach will never forget this Moroccan culinary experience.
