Join us on a Marrakech Cooking Holiday

On the menu for this one week Marrakech Cooking Experience you will learn to cook a selection of Moroccan dishes and discover a wide variety of produce in bustling local markets and souks in old Marrakech. Enjoy discovering the vibrant main square of Djemaa el Fna and tasting freshly cooked flavorsome street food. Away from the kitchen there is also time to discover the many sights of this magical ancient city.

Day 1 

Arrive Marrakech Menara Airport and you will be transferred to Riad Africa. After some time to settle in, you will take an evening walk to Djemaa el Fna to visit the night food stalls here. This huge medieval square is at the heart of the old city. You will witness acrobats, jugglers, snake charmers, beggars and musicians in what surely is a feast for all of your senses.  Swirling smoke rises from the many food stalls as they cook up local delicacies. This is a great place to commence your culinary journey of Marrakech.

7 Nights Riad Africa – bed and breakfast basis – plus 2 lunches and 4 dinners which you prepare yourself

Day 2

This morning you will take a half day medina tour. In the afternoon into the kitchen you go to cook your first meal at Riad Africa – a delicious Moroccan dinner.

​

Day 3

This morning you will prepare a delicious lunch. After lunch the afternoon is free for you to do as you please, take a dip in the hotel plunge pool to freshen up or take an optional horse and carriage tour of city walls and gardens.

Day 4

This morning you will transfer to our Atlas Mountain cooking base at Kasbah Africa. Once you arrive you will enjoy a cooking day Berber style starting with preparing your lunch. In the afternoon you will learn how to make Berber bread in a traditional oven outdoors. Relax and enjoy the mountain views and fresh air, before transferring back to Marrakech.

Days 5

This morning is free to relax. Then return to the kitchen and learn how to cook some specialities from Fez for your dinner this evening.

Day 6

This morning travel to the coastal town of Essaouira on the Atlantic coast.  With a thriving fishing port here this is a fantastic place to learn how to cook seafood Moroccan style. You will have time to explore the local markets and cook up a delicious seafood meal. Transfer back to Marrakech.

 

Day 7

This morning is at leisure. Then its time to put all you have learned together as you cook your final sumptuous Moroccan dinner we hope it will be fit for a prince!

Day 8

Your Marrakech cooking holiday finishes today as you say farewell to your new friends. We are sure you and your stomach will never forget this Moroccan culinary experience.
